Auditions!

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I actually made a blog post about something dealing with the college program. There's not really much to say about it because I'm basically waiting until it's time to go. But, I'll give you a whole bunch of little updates until the times comes.

I booked my flight a couple weeks ago as well as a one night stay in Pop Century the night before check-in! I'm going to be rooming with my future roomie, Lyanne, the night before and then we'll head over to Vista together in the morning. Exciting!

I saw my advisor again, since it's necessary for all education majors to be advised prior to scheduling. We just talked about the couple classes I'll be taking at Disney and the couple online classes I'll also be taking so I can be considered a full-time student and stay on my health insurance. She eased some of my worries and now I can't wait to get down there and begin classes!

Also, I finally sent in an email requesting locations to work! I debated whether or not to do that, because I do like surprises, but I don't want to work in a waterpark or resort. I requested highly themed quick service places like Pecos Bill and Toy Story Pizza Planet. I also put down that I'd like to maybe work at one of the outdoor food carts. Though I know I would be really hot some days, I think I'd have fun there because you get a lot more guest interaction. I pretty much just want to be put in one of the four main parks. :)

Quick formspring question!

Flounder or Sebastian???

Aww man, tough choice! Flounder is so cute and funny but I'm going to have to go with Sebastian because he has that awesome Jamaican accent!

Auditions!

Finally, what this entire post was going to be about! I had auditions for character performer on Friday. We had to fill out a simple form and then stand in line to get our number, picture, and height. I was measured at 5'4" something, I couldn't quite hear the rest of it. There were all sorts of outfits that people were wearing to the audition. Some people were in full-blown dance outfits while others looked like they just came straight from school. I guess I was somewhere in between. I thought I wouldn't know anybody but I actually found someone I went to high school with so I was happy that I didn't have to go through it alone. There were over 120 people at the audition (Yikes!) so they decided to make 2 cuts. We first learned a simple dance that had 2 counts of 8. Then they broke everyone up into groups of 4 according to our numbers and we did the dance across the floor. All that literally took only 10 minutes, from learning the dance to actually performing it for the judges, so you have to pick up moves quickly! After that, the first cut was made. Unfortunately, I happened to be in that cut. At least half were cut, maybe more. I didn't feel too bad because, since it was an open audition, there were people there who were trying for full time, so a lot of them had years of training. I had a great time though! It was fabulous and I have no regrets for going. Now I have QSFB to look forward to!

Until next time,

HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!
